About the Artist
Carol Sue Witt has been dedicated to the art of transparent watercolor since her formal training began at the University of Maryland. Throughout her career, she has painted alongside masterful artists as a founding member of the St. Louis Watercolor Society and a past member of the Southwest Watercolor Society in Dallas. She has also honed her craft under the guidance of esteemed instructors, including Carol Carter, Joseph Fettingis, Michael Holter, and Soon Warren.
Now based in Austin, Texas, Carol Sue is deeply engaged in the city's thriving art scene. Organizations such as the Capitol Art Society, the Waterloo Watercolor Group, and a weekly critique group known as Painters provide her with constant inspiration.
Beyond exhibiting her award-winning artwork across Central Texas, Carol Sue is a passionate educator who teaches watercolor to students of all levels. She encourages her students to relax, embrace the process, and proudly share their creative expressions. Drawing from her extensive workshop experience, she authored a 10-lesson workbook, Paint With Me… Watercolor My Way, which is now in its second printing.
A proud signature member of the Texas Watercolor Society and a past President of the Waterloo Watercolor Group, Carol Sue currently serves on the Board of the Riverbend Centre for the Arts and paints daily in her home studio.
