From watercolor, oil, and pastel, historic processes and modern methods, this exhibition honors not only connection in space and time, but also the history of the site and history of Capitol Art Society, the oldest art society in the Austin area. The French Legation and exhibited artists invite you to consider these works and how the subject matter and mediums presented cross time and space to connect us to the past, invite sharing, and build common ground.
Historic paintings not usually on display are available for viewing during this temporary exhibition and help to contextualize the modern works by Capitol Art Society.
The exhibit will be on display during normal business hours from April 8-October 30, 2023. Admission to the exhibit is included in the regular ticket price.
