About the artist
I came to Texas and my art life after a career in the medical profession as both a physician assistant and a registered nurse.
I studied art at the University of New Mexico and and continued my studies at the Southwest School of Art and the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts in San Antonio, Texas. I works in oil, watercolor, graphite, and printmaking. Particularly drawn to the human form and in documenting the human experience through my work, I am influenced by both my love of biological science and anthropology.

In addition to participating in numerous exhibitions in the Austin-San Antonio area, I have received awards for oil painting at the Southwest School of Art and at the Round Rock Arts Imagine and BIG exhibitions at Texas State University . I received awards for watercolor at the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts, and the Texas Watercolor Society. I was featured in the publication SPLASH 15. I have also shown work at the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies,  Texas Watercolor Society, International Watermedia Exhibit - Houston (WAS-H), Texas State University-Round Rock and in several exhibits at the Georgetown Arts Center. I was awarded first in 2D representational art and my art was featured on the program cover for the Art Hop in the fall of 2020.
