Aritst Bio:
I love being outdoors, animals and gardening! Even as a teenager I was taking my watercolors outside trying to paint the Kentucky countryside. I majored in art at the University of Kentucky in the 70’s and earned my degree in art education but yearned to have some real fine art teaching.

I married and my husband and we moved to Austin, Texas where I discovered Pastels and fell in love with the medium. I attended workshops and read “how to” books.

My real growth came when we lived in New York, and I was able to attend THE Woodstock School of Art for two years. It made all the difference as I began to understand value, color temperature and relationships, aerial perspective, and painting plein-air in both oil and pastel painting.

Over the years my style has become somewhat impressionistic as I work in layers and often focus on complimentary colors. My art simply reflects how I feel about beautiful word around me wherever we live or travel. It brings me peace and I hope it does for you too.
